The clients purchased a 1910’s home in Kitsilano that had been partially updated by its previous owners. The clients wished to transform the home by removing walls so that the main living area was open-concept, and completely gut and structurally re-build the entire home. All electrical and plumbing was updated and the original character of the home was maintained throughout. Some modern touches were added, including a spa-like ensuite bathroom and a contemporary kitchen. The floors are gorgeous quarter- sawn red oak which highlights the grain of the wood and provides a strong durable floor for a young family.
